If your existing system does not give the answers you need - Get your data into Excel - if you use Sage Line 50 download Data Capture - see Free Stuff - and then learn to use a few Excel utilities, Pivot Tables and formulae to review data for errors and omissions, to create various analyses, draft accounts and management accounts for any period and by department and by comparison with budget.
